This is such a new industry and it's changing all the time that the questions never seem to stop. So here are some of the most frequently asked questions that we get on a regular basis. I hop that this helps you figure somethings out, but at the same time makes you think to ask the right questions if we get to talk in person.

1. Why do I need to market my website?

You might be surprised by that, but we get that question all the time. And the answer is pretty easy when you really think about it. You have to know the purpose of a website. A website exists because people more and more are turning to the Internet to search for services, products, information, and do research before a purchase decision is made.

The main purpose of your website to to be found by those people and make them an offer to become your client, customer, or patient. Your website should be your biggest more profitable marketing arm.

What makes it so powerful is the fact that it's unobtrusive marketing. The prospect is seeking you out... they need and want your services... so in fact, if you believe that you provide the best of whatever it is that you do... then you are doing that prospect a disservice if you don't help them do business with you.

2. Can my website really provide a positive return on investment?

YES YES YES... and if it's not then you're doing it wrong. I don't mean to be in your face, but that is the greatest thing about website and Internet marketing... it's 100% traceable. You can track what works and what doesn't work and keep testing to improve and improve and improve.

Your website should be a money machine and your number one way to market... and it should be so good that you can more or less begin to roll back on other more expensive forms of advertising. Thinks like radio, Yellow Pages, and TV.

3. What with being on the first page of Google... and why Google?

Your competition is not every other business that does what you do. On the Internet your competition is every other listing on the front page of a search result. Nobody looks at page two and you have to be at the top of page one to kill it. But when you're there, you KILL IT!

Google is the most important because that is where the majority of the people who search on the Internet go. However, when you optimize your website for Google, you in theory optimize it for Yahoo and Bing.

BUT... Bing is so new that they are changing this up a lot and that will be a strange game over the coming months. It should stabilize and become more predictable in 2010.

I will be posting more questions so check back frequently.
